| Résumé : | The scope of this thesis was to study the development of conformation, especially distal limb conformation and to quantify the effects of trimming and shoeing techniques for today's equine athlete. Apart from the chapters 1 (general introduction) and 9 (general discussion) this thesis can be subdivided into 3 main topics ; development of the distal limb and the importance of overall body conformation, quantification of balance characteristics and the effects of trimming and shoeing, and science-based development of horseshoeing |
